gretsch 60s round badge bearing edges

Loading...

hi there,

does anyone have information on why my rg sets bass drum has the "modern" 30° bearing edge and the toms have the roundover version?

have they always been like that?

i thought that also the bassdrums had round edges?

thanks

In the 60's and early 70's, all 6 ply Gretsch bass drums and snare drums had a 30 degree edge. Toms had an edge going in the opposite direction, and more rounded over.

O really? This is great news to me. I'd always assumed someone recut the edge on my bass as it's definitely different from the toms.
