Hey there, alain !
Gretsch made 3-ply maple/poplar/gumwood shells through the '50s before switching over to 6-ply maple/gumwood shells from Jasper in the '60s.
I know they made some shells in all maple, like Charlie's, but not a whole lot of 'em.
Keep a vigil on eBay and Craig's List, and ya might get lucky enough to find what you're after. Winning the bid is another matter, though...
hi Nik,
thank you for the info! I will try to be patient and who knows, I might be lucky. If you see anything on your side, let me know!
Alain
Columbus Pro Percussion in Columbus, Ohio had some natural finish round badge Gretsch drums for sale on consignment (spelling??).. I don't know if they still have that kit there or not...
If your still interested let me know and I'll make a run up there on a lunch hour, have a look and take some pics for you if they are still there.
