Gretsch 4160 RB snare questions

Just picked one up and am very impressed with the heavy die cast rims but I'm having trouble cleaning them up - any tips? Also the chrome parts, except the shell and lugs, don't seem to clean up as easy as other vintage snares. The serial number tag is peeling off inside the shell - what's the best adhesive to use for this or should I leave as is?

and a whole bunch of snares and hardware

I have a 4160 from the 60's also. This is what I did:

1. Cleaned all parts with Dawn soap (let the hoops soak overnight in it)

2. Next cleaned the shell & lugs with simple green

3. Cleaned above mentioned parts with groove juice

4. Used Wright's silver polish on everything

5. Finished off with Meguiars Deep Crystal Carnuba Wax

Checkout my snare thread to see how it looks now. I will admit certain parts of this drum were a pain!
