So I am starting my morning as usual at about 6am or so and doing my routine scan of the bay. I see a listing for a rough but complete Gretsch 4417 Roundbadge floor tom. Perfect - nope but cheap - yes!
I had received quotes around the $400-500 range for just a shell needing work so for what I paid (smart folks can search ebay) I got a complete drum minus legs.

The good things about it; cheap, all hardware except for legs, paper tag and of course badge. The bad; wrap is missing at the seam, 4 extra very small holes from where someone mounted a snare throw and butt plate.
Out of the box I just saw the shell and had no idea these guys (die cast hoops) were down in the box still:

The person I bought it from was very strange. The most unusual ebay transaction I have had to date. So I will likely kit this guy out with some extra RB shells I have. Really hate to go the rewrap route but not much of a choice.
