Green sparkle Slingerland snare ID help!

Loading...

Hi guys!

chanced on the site few days ago while considering to buy a slingerland snare

anyways i got it and still can't figure out what snare this is

after reading the detailed explanations on the site =(

so here are some pictures. I just like to know what model this is made in which year and what's the current value! =D

I tuned it up and it sounds great to my ears, no intention to sell.

changing to coated skin soon.

1st pic.Badge looks like the black and silver oval one,

but it also look close to a few other.

2.Zoomatic snare strainer

3.Inside of the drums, is it 3-ply or solid?

4.maple?

I have a feeling the inside is painted on.

weird thing two rubber band melted inside the drum,

I had a frightening experience of scraping it off

worrying about scratching the wood.

5.fit the resonant head.

6.put on the batter. the 'muffler' inside seems to be tilted at a weird angle

(so it does'nt touch the skin totally, just at the edge of the pad)

is it supposed to be like this? or should i bend it?

7.Previous owner says snare wires are original

but he said he changed the plastic which holds on to it

(sorry i don't know what its called)

8.does it look original?

on one side of the wire it says: made in japan.

9.skins that came with it,

looks beaten up

10.Batter: Slingerland Orchestra Batter

Thanks for viewing guys!

another problem: The metal hardware looks like it "cracked" the outer layer seems to be peeling off what can I do about it?

hope to hear from you experts soon!

*edit* sorry for the large images at first,

resized it now.

Slight angle of the muffler is the way Slingerland did it.

Shell and badge, according to the Slingerland ID articles on this site, date it around 1970.

3 ply shell.

Artist model.

Rare finish drum...would probably sell for $300-450 on ebay on the right day.

Clean them up and leave them...nothing you can do except replate (SO not worth it) or if you really care, buy some replacements. There are lots of '70s Slingerland parts on ebay. I'd deal with them as it...it's a nice original drum.

one last question: The snare wires,

I don't think slingerland came with wires that says

'made in japan' right?

or do they?
