Great Premier score!

Great kit!

And really rare condition of tom mounts on BD --- they often were ruined during the active life years.

I was wrong there. That's not the kit I was thinking about.-----doesn't matter---it's a fine drum kit ; doesn't need videos to represent it. curious still about the Trixon tom. is it 20" or the pre-'64 metric measure 500mm( 19 3/4"). There were a few later teardrop lug ones , that were actually 20" shells-----usually Birch in that period.

calfskin,… I don't know anything about Trixon so all the help is welcome.

I measured it and the floor tom is 50.9 cm so 20" exactly.

It looks to be a 5 ply shell, no re-rings and it's missing a badge. Under the vent hole, there's a small sticker saying: "Made in Germany".

One of the leg brackets is missing the black plastic piece to position the leg.

I believe the hardware is nickel.

Doesn't say West Germany,so that dates it somewhat right there.....

Hi guys,Just showing off an amazing Premier kit that I scored today. Not sure yet but it seems to be a late 1950's New Continental outfit with a gorgeous Royal Ace, bongo's and a 20" Trixon floor tom in the same Gold Sparkle finish.Everything is there,... hardware, Premier cases, sticks and most heads are still the original ones. The wrap is faded but compared to other Premiers I saw, it's tight with only a few minor cracks.I've been on the look out for one of these quite some time. This one is definitely a keeper.!I'll post some pictures in the "restore" section of the cleaning progress.

That is a nice find, especially the Trixon FT and the screw on sizzle cymbal attatchment. Let us know how they sound, I'm sure pretty cool. Enjoy

That's amazing! The Bongos are rare. To have them in a complete kit is jaw dropping. Fantastic find!

I found a set of bongos like those on Craig's a few months ago for $30!

Had a broke calf head on 1 drum..but OH WELL....

guy said it was too much work to box up and send,so sold them locally...

Bummer!

Small update,…

I found a few small spots on the bass drum edges of, what I believe to be, the original color. It appears to be Gold Sparkle. I still find it very strange that there is none of the original color left under the lugs, brackets and mounts. (see picture)

The fact is that these drums were kept in the original cases practically all their live so the fading wouldn't be caused by UV-light but rather by a chemical reaction within the wrap. Would that be a fair statement ??

I'll try to post a picture of the "true" gold sparkle color tomorrow.

The set is as good as cleaned up so more pictures to come,...

Nice detail,... the person I bought it from is Cesar Zuiderwijk's personal drum techie. Mr. Zuiderwijk is Dutch drum guru and drummer of Golden Earring. (Radar Love,… I've been driving all night my hands wet on the wheel,... !)

Wow, a classic drummer and a rock song standard. Cool connection there.
