Gracy Drums

This is the only Gracy I've ever seen, and I sold it a couple years ago. An orphan FT with a sweet red wrap. Two ply with rings.

Agreed, that wrap is beautiful. I wonder what year that one was produced?

I'm thinking mid to late 60's? I'm not sure...

Whatever it is, it's a bit different from yours, the badges anyway. Still, it was a pretty nice drum, just very thin shelled though. I was concerned that if the head was over tensioned some lugs might pull out.

HA! Well, if I could remember the guy I sold it to, you might be in business! I do remember it was on the east coast. That makes it easier doesn't it?

Really dig that kit. Very cool and unique!

I have a BDP Gracy kit. The badge is like the red floor tom fishwaltz had. Mine are 3-ply with re-rings. They sound awesome! There are subtle differences in the hardware too. Yours has a rail mount, mine has a post mount (with "thumb" bracket). It looks like we both have a cymbal bracket in the same place on the bass drum. My wingscrews for the floor tom legs etc. were actual wing screws, no square heads. My kit has the same sizes as yours, except the tom is 8" x 13". Weird, I know. I consider mine basically a round badge copy. Very similar T-rods, tom mount, straight flor tom legs, lugs etc. Anyway, here are a few pics:

Hello all, first time poster here. I recently had the good fortune of picking up a set of Gracy drums in very good condition. A search on this forum has revealed info on 3 ply kits with reinforcement rings. The kit I found is a 6 ply deal in a cool wrap, also, it has die-cast hoops and rather nice lugs and badges. Please see the attached pictures. Has anyone ever seen a kit like these before? I'm quite certain that the hoops are original because I doubt the original heads, which I have, have *ever* been removed. BTW, the sizes are:14x20 kick8x12 tom14x14 tom5x14 snareAny info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They look really nice. The shells look to be of very nice quality similar to the early Yamaha kits. It's gotta be a keeper but if you sold it i'd say you'd get good money, certainly more than the usual MIJ kits. Nice score

Lovely Gracy you have there! Could you possible give us a few more close up shots and one of a drum interior - so we can see the wood grain and construction. Much appreciated

This one pictured here is still currently on auction on YahooJapan! for about 750$ (65,000yen) It was previously listed for 1000$ but there were no buyers so the price has dropped. If it would go to 40,000yen then I myself would be a proud pappa...

Nice kit vyacheslav! Wrap is pretty. OsakaBop, that kit is very nearly the same as mine. The only difference I can see are the kick spurs and the rack tom which appears to be a 13 inch. I will post more and better pics shortly. Are there more pics of that Yahoo Japan auction? I think the badge is the same but it's hard to tell. Thanks!

Actually, I found the japanese auction. Here are a couple more pics from the Yahoo site. The badges are different and these are three ply shells with re-rings. Nice kit though...
