Got my bearing edges recut on vintage premiers

Loading...

Brought a 22" bass drum, 12, 13, 14" toms to Precision Drum company in Pleasant Valley NY and wow-cool experience to witness and great sound afterwards

None of the drums had even bearing surfaces to begin with but they also had some other nasty areas. The bass drum head never seated down all the way in one spot. One of the toms always sounded dull. The shells are thin mahogany with some other wood ring.

Results were excellent. The three toms became way more "musical" with a pleasant sustain. The bass drum went from bad to very nice.

Precision does great work! I've used them quite a bit over the years. And, yes, we'd all love to see pictures of your Premiers!

There were definitely spots that were not level or no edge. All that nasty stuff on the left came out.

What a beautiful set of drums!!Cheers

Thanks!!! They have been with me since the mid 70s. They were originally white. After all the years they developed yellow splotches so I rewrapped them in chrome. That enabled adding the 22" bass drum and the 14" tom-bought them and rewrapped them to match.
