I have a line on a newer supra 6.5 x 14 for $200 free ship. I see these going for over $350-400 all day. what do you think? should I pull the trigger>? I know I'd pay $500-$600 for a vintage model

No idea w/out any photos/physical description. My view is the 60's-70's are better made than "newer"; but I'm partial to higher quality collector percussion since value generally rises w/ time, rather than staying static.

Assuming it's in good condition, it's a good deal...but yeah...can't tell for sure without details or pics. I, too, tend to think the older Supras sound better than the new ones. The new ones are pretty much made the same, but seem to have a little thicker shell with thick 2.3mm hoops, nylon washers, sometimes gaskets under the lugs, o-rings on the tension rods, etc. and don't sound as open and sweet as the older ones. That's just my take on it, though. If it's what you're looking for and it's in good condition, then fire away! Good luck!

The guy agreed to a price, then after I asked for his pay pal account, he tells me he needs more $$$.so I passed, I said if I can't trust your word, how do I know I'll get what you say I'll get. I'd rather buy from people I can trust......................

Smart call! I guess it wasn't meant to be this time.
