Gold Sparkle 3 ply Ludwigs Last viewed: 2 hours ago

SOLD. Kinda happy, kinda sad. But life happens and these are just drums.

I know this goes smoother with pictures. I am not where I can take and post pictures right now. That will happen later tonight. But I wanted to get this out there.

I am looking to sell my gold sparkle classic Ludwigs. Sizes are...

14x20

8x12

14x14

5 or is it 5-1/2 matching jazzfest snare.

Snare is keystone badge with white interior, a 1965 I believe.

the bass and rack tom are keystone badge with clear interiors.

the floor tom is B/O with clear interior

I will post serial numbers later along with a couple pictures.

I would put these between collector grade and players because they sparkle so fine. NO EXTRA HOLES! The wrap is in really nice shape with the exception of the 14 had some lifting and I glued it...it's got some ugliness but it could be cleaned up nicely. Otherwise its very vibrant. The chrome is great, a few little pits but really nice. The rail consolette operates like a charm!

It is missing one of the bass drum hoops and the one it has has been touched up with black enamel. I use a MIJ metal with gold inlay hoop in place of the missing one (not included) and will include the t-rods and claws.

Some issues. Not all bass drum t-rods are original, not all tom rods are original, and the snare rods......well they all aren't original either. The edges have some areas where there is a bit of separation of the re-ring, but no damage. The reso side of bass drum has some duct tape residue.

I would like to get $1100 (that's shipped...CONUS only...but I'll ship international if you pay shipping) out of these. I would also consider a bit of partial trade for 1970's and earlier Zildjians (22" ride, 16's 17's crash, 20 or larger swish)....but I need cash so the bulk of the deal has to be that. That price is for them to be shipped to you, nice and safe like. I would like it to be as Paypal gift or if that causes you concern I would want to add Paypal fees to overall cost. PM me, send me your email and I will fill your inbox with pictures and answer any questions you have.

Seems too go to be true? Very fair deal.

Get ready for the onslaught of "if-I-didn't-just-spend-my-life-savings-on-a-new-kit-I'd-buy-this-in-a-heartbeat!!" responses. :)

I'll break the mold:

Nice kit, and a "fair" price, according to the normal prices people talk on here. I have the money, but the deal isn't sweet enough for me to want to buy it. If it was located within a half hour of Portland for $600, I'd consider maybe checking it out. $500 and I'd be there...

Oh yeah, and the obligatory request for pics, and the comment "Somebody is going to be really happy with that kit." -or- "Somebody needs to buy this."

I am open to offers. Don't worry about lowballing me, I can always politely say no or shoot you a counter offer.

SOLD.

A very bittersweet moment. But there will be other kits at other times. I will buy a couple cymbals to soften the hurt.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
