Gold plating

Loading...

I had a player email me asking if their snare drum was a Centennial: it wasn't; but it had gold plated fittings that were almost certainly Centennial leftovers. Trouble is, they are flaking badly, although the chrome underneath looks sound. Has anyone any experience of re-plating fittings that I can pass on to the owner?

I've had chrome parts gold plated. Send it to the plater, no problem. The plater will do the necessary prep work to ensure their own work....

thank you, I will pass that on.

Should also mention that its not cheap. It cost me $400 for brand new hardware for a snare drum....
