That would be a good price for that particular kit (if everything else is in good shape) since the collector value has been compromised by the finish.

Ludwig did offer the Jazzette in darker finishes http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/jazzette/ludwig-71.jpg http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/jazzette/1967_LUDWIG_large.jpg the photo in the 1967 add looks lighter than the 1971. I was under the impression that even an xtra hole fair condition kit would still bring a G/ plus,something that had been re stained I don't know.

I usually just trade with him,but this time,he wants $$$...
