Give it away...

Are you at the point where you would rather give gear away to a good cause rather than waste time with the moroons?..I have been for awhile now. Market sucks, so no one is making money like we used to, sooo, give it away. Churches, schools, music stores that know who "needs and appreciates" the help, etc???Excited

I give stuff to good causes. Also about once a year I look for some student about middle school age that needs a snare drum and their family can't swing it for some reason. I make sure they get a nice drum that looks and sounds good. I only give away stuff that I don' t have any emotional attachment to.

Most of my parts I give to members who need them, dont even ask for shipping, but I also receive parts from members, a great little trading game. A few years a ago I gave an entire kit with hardware, throne and cymbals to a young man, felt good to help him out.

Thank you!

I tried to donate my lightly used (mostly snare) heads and no one wanted them. Perfectly serviceable for a school... If you know who might want a pile of used heads, please let me know.

I'm with you, Jeff! So many members have helped me out that I enjoy giving back!

I believe most of the guys looking for drum equipment are younger guys, just starting a career and family, so they have little cash to throw around and are looking for the best possible deal.

That said, I'm a poor, unemployed older drummer with very little resources to fund my passion. So, if anyone wants to throw me a bone, I'm wide open.LoLoLoLo

I loaned a pretty nice set of assorted cymbals to a friend's son about five years ago. I made them his high school graduation gift last year. He, his parents, and I all felt pretty good about that.
