Girls on drums

Cindy bought some Turkish K's from me at the Chicago show a few years ago..Rob Cook introduced us.

Had one of her autographed K's a few years back (#14 I think) that I bought from a Z rep after they were introduced at "da show"...great cymbal, just didn't sonically match my Paiste's. Had to sell it to a buddy of mine in Mobile when I was out of work. It was one of the "hand picked" batch that went in the reps bag & sounded a lot better than the ones they had on the rack...really wish I had that one back!...were's Jimmy's phone number?....

So you know JR!...very cool guy! I've got his number & email address, was going to send him a batch of my custom snares to put through the ringer but lost my job & coming up with $50 shipping instead of eating is a no brainer. I do need to call him though, got an email from him a month or so ago and it sure made me miss Mobile! I made more good friends & heard more REAL music than I had in the prior 20 years in Birmingham. Heard Wet Willie in a small club called the Blues Tavern a few months before I moved to Huntsville...it was almost a religious experience...unbelievable band. Jim introduced me to Jimmy Hall and he said something I'll never forget..."there should be a law against loving your job this much"! My new wife & I are talking of moving back down there, if I'm going to be out of work, I'd rather be around the people & music I love!
