German drums

Loading...

My father in law was lucky enough to recieve all the drums from his old high school. I've been able to identify most of the drums in the collection but this one is puzzling. It's a green sparkle finish which has faded on one side. It does not have any badges or markings on it. The mount has "Made in German" printed on it. I can't find too much about it so I was hoping someone on here could help.

Those look like Deri drums from what I can see. Can you take a picture of the lugs on the snare?

Unfortunately there is no snare. Just the bass and mounted tom.

Those look like Deri drums from what I can see.

Muffler construction tell us that is a just after-war Trowa.

A die-cast mount is probably made by Rimmel (Deri) which made a die-cast parts for most german drum factories as at the West such and East. More pics --- lugs, hoops, brackets ---would help to ID.

George.

Sorry, at first look I thought that was a snare. But don't see the parallel rods now. Take a pic of the lugs.

The drums are Deri. Deri had a very similar combination muffler to the Trowa one. It looks like the chrome has flaked off of the lugs but they may have offered both chromed and unchromed versions. In this era of production, Deri had a painted on badge. These may have had one of those. You might be able to see it's outline on the wrap. It is the same production as the snare drum in this thread. http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=32181&highlight=deri

Awesome, thanks everyone for the help. I thought the muffler was very unique. I hope my father in law passes them over to me.

I have a matching snare drum in the same wrap. It is complete but not in as good shape as your drums appear to be. For sale , if you are interested.

The muffler looked similar to Tromsa/Roxy. Tromsa always used wing screws with a heart shape to them.I hope you get the whole kit.Let us see some pix, when you get them. Vati
