Geo Way Duco 8-lug Snare

Loading...

Here is part of my new-to-me George Way black and red duco kit. I'm guessing this is an earlier Geo Way snare as it perfectly matches the rest of the kit, which carry the double sided Way lugs with plugs on the bass and toms.

This is an a mostly original 8-lug Aristocrat snare. No extra holes and original bearing edges. I am desperately hoping to find a batter side Way/Camco COB rolled hoop for this drum. The snare wires are not original. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish is in very nice condition as is the hardware. A previous owner wrote their name and contact info in pen on the interior.

Always interested in learning more about vintage drums so add any other info you might have on vintage Geo Way drums. I've come to learn that Geo Way kits are not as collectable as Camco, but I absolutely love this snare and kit. More on the rest of the kit in the next month or so.

Whoever told you that Geo. Way drums are not as collectible as Camco's doesn't know what he/she is talking about. The Geo. Way drums are among the very best made, designed and sounding drums -any- company ever manufactured. On top of which, they are very rare and hard find. What's 'not collectible' about any of that?

You have a rare and beautiful drum. Take real good care of it.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
