Generic Ludwig Drums

A few months ago I picked up this Ludwig drum set at a garage sale for the cymbals (A matching set of Mienl Rakes... yess!), taking the whole kit because the guy wouldn't piece it out as he was leaving town the next day. It has become my practice kit, and though not as warm as my DW's or as vintage sounding as my LaBoz's, it's growing on me. None the less, I have yet to find any clues as to date it in any way. It has almost no defining characteristics. It has matching Ludwig "rocker" heads on the bottom and came with a metal snare (not shown in pictures). Does anyone know the dates of the "Rocker series" or know how to date the drums using the serial numbers? Also looking for info on the "Rakes" series of Meinl cymbals... Thanks! Russ

What you have there is a Rocker II, which pretty much remained the same from their introduction around 1984 until about 1993 so your Outfit dates somewhere during that time frame...........

What clearly denotes your Kit as a Rocker II are the Spurs, the Rocker (proper,) as well as the S/L Series both had different type Spurs..........
