Full dress or not???

I decided to try the "full dress" version of an old kit that i have. Green on silver sparkle from Delmar... I am undecided. What do you think?

I saw your kit in the gallery yesterday. Very cool. If the original kit had the diamonds, I would do it, otherwise leave them natural.

Can you tell me what you started with for the two toms?

I have two drums from the 30's as well. Both Ludwig & Ludwig. Photos attached.

I picked up a 1930's WFL 10"x 14" on Ebay for cheap. I plugged some holes and refinished it. The FT is a 3 ply Ludwig with rings but 14" deep x 16" and it too got the same treatment. I had to find single tension rods and 16" maple rims ($$$$$) to match the other 2 drums but worth it in the end.

Keep fixing them up...

It's a cool look with the diamonds, but I prefer it without them...really love that maple / mahogany contrast, and adding the diamonds automatically makes me look at them instead. :)

I almost didn't realize it was the same kit, if you can believe it. I think the diamonds look pretty rinky-dink. The natural drums are gorgeous.

I made them with leftover silver and green sparkle wrap from Precision.
