FS: 19" Paiste Formula 602 Concert "B"

Loading...

For sale is a cymbal which forum members here helped me to identify as a pre-serial concert model. This cymbal belonged to my uncle, who purchased it new as a single piece.

(Note: This information differs from my original post - he recently told me it was purchased new, not used - sorry for the confusion)

The cymbal has a larger center hole (5/8") that was originally played with a rubber grommet to reduce the diameter. The grommet was removed for the photos below and replaced.

It has remained packed away in a trap case for at least 10 years. As you can see from the photos, aside from the decades-old fingerprints, the cymbal is in great shape. No nicks, cracks, or damage on the edges.

The photos show the production stamp, as well as a faded red 19" marking on the underside of the bell. There is an extremely faded stamp on the face that reads "Concert B" - presumably the 'B' half of an "A-B" pair.

Based on my uncle's description, Sam Ash sold this new as a crash ride, and not as an orchestral/concert cymbal.

It weighs in at just under 2000 grams, and has a deep, rich tone to it. A sound file is available, recorded with a simple microphone onto my PC.

I was going to list this on Ebay for $250, but would like to offer it here for $225. I am open to offers.
