Hi!
I offer for sale some cymbals from communist Czechoslovakia and Eastern Germany.
1) Amati Hi-Hats - brass - 14.7"/37,5cm - top 1130g, bottom 1090g (yes, really. You can switch them.)
50$
These are in great shape, bit of patina, but the original brilliant finish still very much intact. They have the older variant of stamp, which puts them into 1960s-1970s in my knowledge. Actually quite nice sounding. They don't have the bite of bronze cymbals, sound softer, but still do their job completely.
2) Trowa crash - nickelbronze - 16.8"/42,7cm - 1035g
SOLD
Some patina and some filth, didn't want to clean it in order not to ruin the patina. Very thin and bendable. Very nice hammering on the bottom side. Quite bright crash, but serves better as a light ride in acoustic situations in my opinion. Very cool and funky sounding bell.
3) Amati crash - brass - 16.5"/42cm - 1360g
35$
Quite a rare piece as not many of these crashes seem to have survived the decades of onslaught unleashed upon them by young drummers using stands without nylon protectors. This one has been cleaned first physically, then chemically, so the original finish is gone. Actually not a very great cymbal, I only offer it to in case somebody wanted to complement the hi-hats (in that case I could also get a coresponding ride. The rides and hats were better than the crashes).
Obviously, these do not compare with professional cymbals of their era, but they can still be quite nice in certain situations and you can be sure that there's not many of them outside (Central/Eastern) Europe.
I can record sound files upon request. Do not hesitate to contact me with any offers or inquiries.
Thank you!
