FREE Rims just ask

Loading...

Someone has all ready taken me up on this offer and so, this post is CLOSED.

Please DO NOT ask for these rims.

Regards,

Robert

My story:

I purchased this lot of rims on ebay. I only needed one 13 inch rim for the bottom on my 1960?s Ludwig tom. I heard from a local music store that back then it was popular to take the bottom rims off for more sound / noise.

Sell and Shipping:

These rims are FREE for the asking but the person who wants them must pay ALL shipping costs upfront. I believe these rims to be from the 1960s and 1970s eras. This is a first come first serve basis. I will leave a CLOSE message on this post as soon as someone takes these FREE rims. I will only ship them in the lower 48 US states. You must take them all or not at all. This is AS IS with no shipping cost refund or returns. Paypal would be most convenient way to pay for the shipping cost inorder to speed up the shipping process. I DO not accept checks but will accept money order or cashiers check. No Western Union. I will send them via fedex ground and includes tracking number.

In General:

They have light scratches from having majority of the rust removed during cleaning. There is also spots of chrome flaking, pitting, rust spots as well as surface rust particularly around the outside seam edges of the wide mouth portion on the outside part of the rim which I was unable to get off. I used Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty scrub pad and Mothers Chrome Polish to clean the rims the best that I could. A magnet sticks to these rims so I believe them to be chrome over steel (COS). They are triple flanged with the top lip directed outward. I only ask that the person that takes these send me feedback as to my cleaning description. That would be very nice to know since these were the first rims that I had ever tried to clean.

In specific terms:

The first and second attachments are 14 inch bottom snare and 13 inch bottom snare rims in the attached order. The 13 inch bottom snare rim has scar marks around the lower wide mouth portion on the outside part of the rim. Someone thought the 14 inch was a Rogers by the length of the tags while thinking the 13 inch was a late 60s Ludwig piccolo bottom.

I believe that the remaining four rims are made by the same brand because they look to have the same tag style. The third and fourth attachments are the 12 inch and the 16 inch (taiwan) rims. The 16 inch and 13 inch are inscribed in the metal really small with the word taiwan near a tag on these rims while the 12 inch and the other 13 inch does not have any noticeable etched taiwan stamp. The last attachment is a close up shot of the 12 inch tags which I believe are the same type of tags on the other three rims as well. Hopefully, the close up on this tag will speak volumes.
