the Post is usually pretty good at finding things. File your claim. It might just turn up.

Mine did. Two months late.

Jag - chill! It's the holidays bud. Everything is slow. Lots of packages flying through the air. It'll get there. Put a tracer on it tomorrow.

Good luck! Hope the transaction goes smooth for you.

About three years ago, I paid 800 bucks for a vintage snare drum. I sent the USPS money order Priority Mail. five days later it had not arrived. I initiated a claim. I had tracking that showed it was scanned at my local post office, and then it vanished. The waiting period passed and I received a check in the mail for 800.00. Same day, the tracking number showed being scanned at the regional postal center aprox. 50 miles away. Three days later, the seller received my MO. So..... I have a postal check for 800, and he has a MO for 800.

I did not get to keep the check. The MO was cashed by my seller and was good.

I got my drum.

I'm a retired Operations Manager with the USPS... Nine days is nothing this time of year. Give it two weeks and maybe a day or two more. It all depends on the available flights, weather (if it's via Parcel Post) and of course how much mail is in the system. My wife still works at the Post Office. From what she says the package volume is huge.

Also, for the couple bucks extra, always ship via Priority Mail.

Okay, off my soapbox! Soap Box

I'm a big fan of sending large drum items via Greyhound BUS--NOT FREIGHT. The transit time is short. The minor inconvenience to the seller and recipient to visit the closest little depot is well worth it. There is a small storefront Greyhound depot a few miles from my suburban home. The lower rates and the great service are reminiscent of what we took for granted many years ago.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Three months for delivery of a John Grey drumkey from England.......

Royal Air Mail lost it, but it turned up.

The last three items last month form California by parcel post took 15 to 23 days.... USPS is really slow the last few months since they stopped sorting services at a lot of Post Offices nationwide.

Jag - check the pockets of your jeans! I usually find that post office stuff folded away in a pocket somewhere.
