For Sale: Vintage Ludwig Tambourine

This is a beautiful vintage Ludwig Professional Tambourine. This is the 10" model with two rows of two jingles per 8 holes, 32 jingles total. The body appears to be bird's eye maple. Has original calf head. The entire tambourine is in excellent condition. The head may have some type of light coating on it. Not sure. Has a few drops of the same coating around one set of jingles. Whatever it is, it looks like it's been there a long time. Have not cleaned this in any way. It has THE sound that you'd expect out of one of these. No cracks/issues. Just a fine vintage instrument. Please pm me here or email to mikelayton@bellsouth.net if you have any questions. Thanks as always.

That is a lot of instrument for $50.

Can you imaging making one of these?

Metal, shell, drilling, pins, heads?

It is really a cool gadget Mr. Layton.

I agree. Just the cost of a nice intact calfskin head brings a premium. I've got probably a dozen vintage Tambourines. I'd say this one sounds the best. I just happen to have two of them. I've seen this model sell for near a hundred bucks in the past.
