For Sale: Thin Istanbul K hats

Here is a great sounding pair of 14" K Istanbul hats. These are superbly thin by my standards. They are 623/642 grams. Each measure 13 7/8". The pair both appear to be Old Stamp 1 issues (circa '40-'45) from what I am being told. They sound amazing together. Both hats came to me with center hole cracks. I played them this way and they were fine. I decided to invest in the future of these fine cymbals and had the cracks addressed by Jake Winebrenner, who did a fantastic job on them. I've really been enjoying them. But these are the only old Ks that I own and would like to find the right home for them. The cymbals have no other issues. Have nice patina and look great. The underside bell signature is still present on the 623g. Please pm me here or email to mikelayton@bellsouth.net if you have any questions. Would love to get these to a fellow 'Holic! Thanks....Mike

Thanks Lucky. They are laser repaired at the cracks around the center hole.

Like a weld or solder?

I would assume more of a weld. He has some Youtube videos out there. Zenstat had an 18" Istanbul repaired a few years ago. He was kind enough to let me keep it here for awhile and play. He tells me that his repairs are still doing fine.

Wish I had the dough, that’s a nice price for those.

Good luck with your sale.
