For Sale: '65 Ludwig White Marine Pearl Pioneer

Have owned this little WMP gem for about 4 years now. Got it from a forum member and now ready to pass it on to another forum member. Mar 2 1965 date stamp inside white resacote interior. 5x14 3 ply 6 lug Pioneer shell is in great condition (same shell as the Jazz Festivals). I don't see a scuff or scratch on it. It is a pretty common shade. Not snow white and not yellow, more of a vintage cream look. Chrome hardware looks really nice. P83 strainer works smoothly. New snare wires. Has the white felt baseball bat muffler. Chrome over steel hoops. There is a bit of corrosion on the hoops in a couple of spots, but still look nice overall. Has original amber tip 12 strand 2517124 wires that many like. Has a set of earlier Remo pre pie heads that I seek out. Love the way that they sound. Remo weather king Ambassador up top and the same in a clear Ambassador on the snare side. I think these can tune lower than the JF but can also tune in the high range without choking. Very versatile snare drums!

Please feel free to pm me here or email to mikelayton@bellsouth.net if you have any questions. Thanks for checking it out!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
