Fooled by Mij Snare w/ Imperial Lugs

Loading...

Thought I had seen every MIJ American copy lug around,(usually easy to spot), but this was the best I have ever encountered. Metal snare w/ 8 Imperial lugs (the type used on Ludwig wood shell drums). This MIJ has an inverted center bead. Has anyone seen this lug before?. The shadow on the shell shows it to be original. The inside spring looks very cheap & ill fitting. (they take standard American tension rods).

I have seen many of these M.I.J. snare's with these lugs on them. The ones i have seen are from the late 60's and were made by Pearl. The strainer on the drum tells me your drum is ones on these..In the pass i have even file out the middle of the lug to do a fast repair job on Ludwig snares just to get it back to play till i put a Ludwig lug on the drum....Mikey
