Fix a broken snare?

Loading...

One of the metal wires came undone from a set of Gretsch Responso snares. It broke right where the wire meets the tail piece. Any ideas on how to re attach it? Solder, epoxy?

Thanks.

I think at this point the wires are probably trying to tell you they need to be replaced! I would possibly fix them and retire them for new wires.

They are probably streched out and a new set will give the drum some new life.

Keep the old ones in stock.

For 1 wire? I don't know. It's a pretty great sounding drum. I think I'll just start trying some stuff I find off the shelf. I hate messing with a great combination.

Solder worked like a charm. Good as new. No one would ever know.

OK. It came off after beating on it for a while. I just ordered some PureSound Metrics 40 strands.
