I have a set of 4 Ludwig shells in Black oyster pearl. Finish is cracking and delaminating slightly at the seams. sizes are 12 B/O, 13 Keystone, 16F B/O, and 22 Keystone (which was originally equipped with rail but was drilled and fitted with ludwig dual tom mount. Odd part is all drums are clear interior (except bass) and fiited with round screw type mufflers. I bought them off of my Dad's drummer fo 30+yrs. He owned them for that long at least and they have always been known as a set around the area. I grewup playing these (learned how to play) and when presented the opportunity to purchase, I did so. They even have fiber cases with B/O badge and tagged with the last 3 band names these were associated with. One dates to the late sixties and is beleived to be the original owner of these drums (he died in a car accident at a young age). I wonder if they are simply added onto 2-3 piece w/steel snare or some weird deal thrown together out of leftover stock. Interior, mufflers, and general patina match. 22 white interior and mods being the exception. The interior doesn't look factory to me and the mod somehow does? drums sound great and I will continue to play them. Any value to them? Should I alter or otherwise try to restore this (kit?) any input will be apreciated and thanks for your time.

Great story,,Yes SirCool1 man you had to buy this kit!!, post some pics for us, please!
I will have to borrow a camera in order to post pics. This may or may not happen. However, the chrome is in great shape and the bass rim inlays remain intact. Also I recently updated the heads to G1 coated batters and clear resos. Bass is equipped with G2 clear batter and EQ 2??? coated batter with thin edge molded into it and small vent holes placed near the edges of the head. These heads really brought the bass to life as the previous set up involved 20 year old (literally) remo cs siver dot batt. (not terrible) with a single ply ludwig logo with the really big freakin' hole cut into it (Terrible) and a massive pillow to really depreciate it. (*sounds)PTO PTo Pto. Forte, mezzo forte, and piano. Bass sounds like a drum now anyway excellent response when I when I play a 4 1/4s in row you really feel the shell resonating. Play the same with 2nd and 4th notes mtted and you start to make the drum really "speak". Anyways you get the picture. I love this kit and have a tendency to tear it up because it is so comfy. The problems are as follows: I PLAY drums therefore the old hardware has a tendency to wander a bit (tom mounts and bass creep seem to be the most vulnerable). I'm debating or rather brain storming ideas to make my kit more playable while not depreciating its value (if there is any at all in the first place). TA DA!. Maybe I simply posted in the wrong area. I'm not sure but input is nonetheless appreciated.
