With my newly aquired MIJ kit. The kit looks and sounded fantastic.
First Gig
Hugely underrated kits. Glad you are happy. Would that be a small coin door Coke machine I see in the background?.
Thanks!

I believe it is, good eye! I knew the kit sounded good from playing them in the rehearsal room, but boy, they really sounded good at this gig, especially the snare. I've played at this same venue many times with different kits, Ludwig, Slingerland, even a Trixon, but none sounded as good as these. The best two hundred bucks I've ever spent.
I just found this picture on fb that our lead vocalist took. I didn't even know she was taking a picture, good shot from behind the kit.
Got to say I lliked using my pearls in the 80's as they sounded good with some tweaks but I never had to worry about them being stolen got to say they look great...also the shiner bock banner is too cool
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
I'm guessing those are pretty thin shells and that is part of the reason for the Good Vibrations you're getting. I really like the look. those are small sizes too, right?

They look like Gretsch shells with the grey interior. Correct, small sizes, 8x12,14x14, 14x20, 5x14.
We know you tend not to keep sets very long, but that one seems to defy norms. For what you have into that one and the sound it's giving you, I can imagine letting it go.
Absolutely no reason to let it go, it's not like I could get much out of it anyway. Now I could always be tempted on a trade deal, but I'm not actively looking for one. No, this will be my main gigging kit, easy to transport, looks nice and sounds good. I'm in the process of putting together another kit with a 13,16,22, all I need is the kick. I'm going to wrap those in wmp. I also have my eye on this Slingerland RK that's been re-wrapped in green sparkle, can pick it up for a pretty good price. If that happens, that will be the one I would use to keep the revolving drum door going. Here it is.
