finished slingerland

Here is my 1975 cordova wrap slingerland 3ply I purchased in October. It has new bottom rims and front hoop. I put ambassadors on the top and Ludwig mediums on the bottom of the toms. I have the 12 and 13 a minor 3rd apart and the 16 a fifth lower than the 13. I don't know if this is right but it's a place to start. The top head is tuned one step highter than the bottom on the racks and the floor reso is a minor third higher that the top head. I really like this set compared to my rockstar. It was a lot easier to tune. This is my second drumset.

Looks good and congrats on a great new/old set. Tune them any way you like, so long as they sound good!

Very good point, Jaye. That would allow that nice old tom to extend the warm tone very well. Always the guru, aren't ya...

I probably built those......I hated the leather line and fought it because they dampen the shell....Forget about the 1/3 crap and just enjoy them.

lonecomic, that is really interesting that you probably built those drums! I was kinda wondering if that naugahyde material was dampening, now I know. I still think they are great though. They are the best I've ever played. Thanks for the advice.
