Well, I see the auction now. Ouch. I don't wish you a bad run but that's very high. Your description is a bit off.

I am speaking only for myself when I say that I find it icky that you were blessed with a wonderful find ... only to rid yourself of it for the lure of money. I don't know your personal situation and am just venting. It's just something that rubbed me wrong. Please don't read this wrong and get mad. I don't know your motivations. They may be pure. You may have a sick kid that needs medicine and this will cover the costs. I understand that things happen for a reason. But, I'm a drummer and the thought of finding a rare beauty like this and then flipping it ... I just can't get my mind around that. Wow.

I don't think it is that far off with cymbals and hardware. Great looking kit, good luck with your sale. If I had the extra cash right now it would be mine!

just curious, what in the description do you believe is a bit off? i did realize that i said the snare drum had a calf skin head on it, which it doesn't. it's the original orchestral batter head.

"Find of a lifetime" usually doesn't translate to "flip it a week later for a little stack of the ever crumbling US dollar" for me. But who am I to judge?

Bummer.

Like I said, it's just a bit off. I honestly don't want you or anyone else to make anything more out of this than was intended. I marked the items that were questionable. It's really no big deal. I noticed a few things that seemed a bit off. That's it. Correct 'em if you want. Don't correct 'em. It really doesn't matter. They were just things I noticed.

This is a 1962 museum quality Slingerland blue ripple pearl 4 pc jazz kit, complete with literally every single thing that was bought with it originally, as I acquired it recently from the original owner.

It is in almost perfect condition, and is not missing anything.

The chrome is perfect, with absolutely no pitting of any kind, and the wrap is in perfect condition, with the exception of a bit of buckling of the wrap

behind a few lugs on the bass drum and floor tom.

The batter calf skin head on the bass drum is torn, as well as the calf skin resonant head on the rack tom.

-20x14 virgin kick w/ rail consolette, cymbal mount, bass drum anchor, and original canvas bag (May 1962 stamped inside)

-"Tempo King" bass drum pedal with original beater and original leather strap in mint condition

-Radio King practice pad stand, complete, but missing one rubber foot

-Slingerland "deep hand bongos" in black diamond finish with original canvas bag (original calf skin heads, one torn)
