Loading...

local add had this snare for sale with lower quality set. Thinking of asking if they would sell me just the snare. Does anyone know much about this by this photo? good asking price?

Not a Fibes.

It's a Corder wood snare.(the tone control gives it away)

If everything is intact worth about $250 to $300.

Jim used Jasper maple gum wood shells and that's as good as it gets.

I own two.

Pearl makes replacement snares that fit perfect for about $10 bucks.

forget it, got a hold of the seller and it sounds like the strainer system is loose (says he has to use tape to get the wires to make good contact with the head) and he had gone and repainted the drum himself. All deal breakers for me.

Depends upon what is wrong with the strainer.

The most common fail with the sft over the years is metal fatigue where the tension knob sits.

It can be fixed for maybe $10 or $20 bucks at a machine shop.

Use it as a bargaining tool.

If the throw arm itself has issues, then you would need to buy at eBay or Reverb for a replacement.
