Fantasia Pearl Snare on Ebay
Hi folks,
I know it´s been a long, long time since this auction ended. But this beauty has been twice around the world until I finally received it!
- At the first time I got a message from German customs telling that either I can collect it at their office or apply for a payment of customs duty via post order. In lack of time I applied for the second variation and waited for almost two months Lame (they had been telling me that it may take several weeks before I will receive the package).
So I rang up the customs office once again but they told me that DHL is responsible for delivery now and I´d have to call them. DHL on their part told me that they obviously had tried to deliver it and claimed that I had declined to accept! So they sent it back to CanadaEye BallCryBaby (In fact there was no one of them §%$#&!?! ringin´ at my door during the period of awaiting the item sooo badly!)
To make a long story short, I contacted the seller again and asked him to ship it for a second time, but had to pay shipping costs for a second time also (now I have to try and get my money back from DHL because it was their fault!). And this time I went to the customs office and picked it up myself. No foolin´ around anymore, wanted to make sure to get hold of it!Sumo Dude
After a little tlc, "new" heads and wires (some used ones I had in stock), it sounds and looks just great and matches my Star "Bollero"-kit wonderfully.
Took these tubbies out for a gig last Saturday and the sound mixing guy was amazed by the look and even more by the sound of the kit!
@surfcollector: you´re the man for getting my eye on this! Thanks, dude!Cool1
Love it! That's one of my favorite MIJ wraps. I see you're also using the same kick pedal I use on my old Pearl kit. Best heel-up pedal out there!
1982 Ludwig Classic in white Cortex, 24-13-14-18 + Coliseum snare
For quieter gigs:
Early '70s Whitehall Tiger Eye Pearl 20-12-14-14
Neglected but thinking about:
Early '70s Sonor Champions in Rosewood, 22-12-13-16

Thank you!
Yes, it´s a great pedal indeed. Currently I´m bidding on another one exact like this (and also a titan hi-hat-stand of the same seller) - two days left, wonder what will happen!
Oh man, that's cool! Great kit!
Looking for a late 80's to early 90's, preferably Arctic White Pearl MLX 14x14 floor tom.
Wow... what a story! Glad that you were able to finally get the drum. Fantasia Pearl is just a really cool wrap. The drum gods were smiling down on you to be able to find this drum and complete your kit. Enjoy!
Atlantaskins, idrum4fun: Thank you for your kind words!
In fact this kit has been complete ever since. When I pulled it out of a trash container three years ago, I also could save the "original-to-this-kit" Bollero Snare. Through the help of this forum I found out that it´s a KingBeat! (see below)
Now I have to choose which one to take out with this kit for a gig or session...:D
Since I play this set, I´ve been dreamin´ of a wooden snare with matching wrap. After looking around, it soon seemed to be like kinda searching for the holy grail or something.
But: Again with the help of this great community and it´s magnificent members, I finally found one! And I´m sooo happy now!Jump For Joy
Hi, Lissy!
That's a great story and a great kit! As you know, I'm a Star lover as well but, I 'm really happy that you got it. Congratulations, my friend!
