Estimated value of 1978 Premier Elite 7 piece Natural Wood set with Trilok hardware Last viewed: 3 days ago

Hi Guys,

I have a set of 1978 Premier Elite - 7 piece Natural Wood set with Trilok hardware. The set is in very good condition and has been kept in a climate controlled environment in cases. It's a beautiful color of red maple all natural wood 9 ply shells.

I have included the actual catalog picture of the set. I need to get it out of storage to get an actual photo but I was curious as to the estimated value as I am considering selling the 31 year old kit.

Let me know thanks,

Rick

No way to tell without seeing the condition of your kit. The best way to estimate the value is to go to EBay and check completed auctions for similar items and the prices they sold for.

Generally speaking, kits with single-headed "concert" toms are very low on the totem pole. Also, Premier is a British brand and the collectible drum market is still (mostly) fixated on American drums. But, if they are in pristine condition and complete with everything down to the last little detail, then you'll probably get some interest in it. Condition and completeness are almost EVERYTHING in a case like this.

Thanks for the info. They are complete and very very clean condition. Not one scratch on the stainless steel snare and all of the toms are perfect. The Bass has some scratches at the point where the beater is attached. Other than the drum heads the set is sweet.

I will also be providing some vintage Zildjian cymbals, huge 22" ride, a couple of splash/crash and high-hats.

I'll post the pictures when I get everything polished and set up.

Thanks again,

Rick

Here they are all cleaned up. I will set them up tomorrow morning. It took me 8 hours of polishing and cleaning to get them ready to sell. Very sweet set as you can see.

Wow! They look really nice! I would think you should be able to get a grand out of the package. You'd have to find the right bidder, though. Like I say, concert toms haven't (yet) come back into fashion. When they do, you'd be able to get a lot more than that. Great job on keeping a cool vintage kit together and in such nice condition!

Beautiful kit, but not the one depicted in the ad. Notice the different lugs, and BD t-rods. I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct specs.

Yeah I hear ya... I had a hard time finding the exact match.

If you can point it out to me then I can update the information. It is what it is tho. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

Thanks Rick

Man, those are beautiful drums and what a great color. Too bad about the single batter, but someone will love them and buy them. Best of luck.
