Elvin Jones tom

Loading...

I'm trying to figure out a value I should insure this tom for? What is the opinion here? Its a 1960s Gretsch 13" tom - round badge in white satin flame. I think it may even be one of the drums from the advert where Elvin's playing the white satin flame set for Gretsch. Theres a number of pictures of the original adverts on ebay being sold. Elvin sold the drum to the drummer I bought it from as he wasn't using it. I have a white satin flame kit so it fits perfectly with what I play! I couldn't believe it when I found it. Any thoughts on a value would be really appreciated.

If you intend to insure it's value as Elvin's drum you will have to have verified documentation of its prior ownership, along with a document from a professional appraiser stating its value.

Ditto on Buckie B`s suggestion here.It has to have verification and documentation to stand up to the fact it was actually Elvin Jone`s tom. I saw Elvin in Boston in 1973 when i was playing there, wonder if this was his tom at that time?Best of luck in your price and sale.
