ebay alert - bought out a vintage music store (now selling) Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Quote from the seller (not me):

I recentlly purchased an entire back room of a vintage instrument store that had been in business for 2 generations. There are hundreds, possably thousands of vintage drum parts and accessories that have been in storage for many years. Some of the names I see here are Ludwig, WFL, Slingerland, Gretsch, Tama, Pearl, Rogers, Leedy, Voxx, Fender, and many others. I am not an expert in vintage instruments, just a guy with alot of parts. I hope you can use some of these in your project.

Link to the store

I have no relationship with the seller - just thought I'd pass along the link, since I certainly can't buy it all.

Lot of stuff, some of it really nice stuff. But...... the whole, I am not an expert in vintage instruments and parts.... is complete BS and really, . . . dishonest. The guy knows way more than he pretends not to know.

He seems like he is more along the lines of "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" than "I know more than I'm letting on". A 1966 COB Supraphonic because a magnet won't stick to it? That's either naive or too clever/mischievous, and I'd like to err on the side of naive.

Also, the 13" round badge tom looks like it has 5 lugs from the pics...doesn't that mean it's a 12" tom? Don't the 13" toms have 6 lugs? If it's a 12", then he's splitting apart a Progressive Jazz kit. I dunno...is that smart? From what I've seen, Gretschs are worth more together and factory original than separated.

One thing's for sure...some people are gonna score on his auctions!

LOL....It sounds to me like he is just a businessman, trying to make some sales from all this stuff he bought. I cant fault him for trying to present his stuff in the best possible light to sell it. Thats just business.
