Early 70's Rogers Restoration - Vent Hole Question

Loading...

I just got an early 70's Rogers set that I would like to restore. The drums have been rewrapped over the original. The wraps underneath appear to be in good condition. The glue on the rewraps looks easy enough to remove with a bit of patience and elbow grease. My concern is the vent hole. How do you go about removing them without damaging them, or is their no other option? Can I find replacement vent holes? If so, where can i get them?

The toms also appear to be missing the mufflers. Does anyone make repros of them or do i have to be patient and find them on the vintage market?

Thanks

Welcome, would you mind please posting some pix so we can see exactly what the issue is? If the wrap is the vinyl type, you should not need to remove the grommet at all. If it is a regular type of wrap, how did the heads ever fit?

It's a 9/72 BT tom.

Thanks for the info.. Any idea what kind of set it would have come from? I'm perplexed as it doesn't have any type of mounting hardware? Thanks again!
