Early 70's Gretsch Bop 18/12/14

Loading...

For sale is a ~1973 Gretsch Stop Sign Badge Bop kit. This is certainly a players kit, as the original owner has done a lot hardware upgrading and refinished the kit. This kit is ready to be played now, and is a great candidate for bringing out for gigs. It's also a great refinish/rewrap project if you're not satisfied with the stain the original owner did. All three drums seem to be in round from what I measured, and have the original Gretsch stickers (the 18" is an actual bass drum, not a refinished floor tom). As I mentioned the original owner did a fair share of mods which I've listed below:

18" Bass Drum - Serial # 25055

-After market legs. Has the originals still installed.

-Slight Rering sep on the reso side (see picture)

-After market Pearl tom stand. Original holes were filled.

12" Rack Tom - #25448

-Muffler Holes filled

-After market Pearl tom mount

-Slightly darker shade than kick

14" Floor tom - #23495

-Muffler holes filled.

-Slightly darker than kick, same hue as the bass drum.

I'm asking $2200+shipping. I understand the mods are not desirable (believe me I wouldn't have done them if I was the original owner), but the floor and kick are hard finds. As far as sound the kit is great and is ready to go out now. The kit could look fantastic if someone is willing to do a little extra work on it.

I'd be happy to take additional pics/provide additional information for anyone upon request. Would consider trades local to Boston. Otherwise I'm looking to sell. I will not piece out these drums.
