Anyone else noticing a lot of weird ebay spammer listings for drum sets

in most drum maker categories? They say email some dude for permission

to bid or BIN, here is an example -

http://cgi.ebay.com/Tama-Starclassic-Bubinga-6pc-Drum-Set-Sunny-Yellow-Laq-/350417691772?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519685a47c

Super obnoxious to see all these listing spams, but I only just started noticing yesterday...

This morning I reported a spammer with over 71,000 similiar listings. Seems to me ebay should have some sort of red flag when thousands of listing get intered all at the same time. All with the same BIN offer.

Problem is the email request is actually a jpeg and not text, so they treat it like a picture.

When you suspect a spammer like that, check out the SEE OTHER ITEMS button and you will see lots of crap with the same email request.

They have been for years and all ebay does is yank the listings after someone reports them. It all starts when the actual owner of the ebay account has their account hijacked by a spam email requesting they enter their user ID and password......gotta be real careful about that....always look at the adress bar at the top of your browser....if its real ebay it will have an actual ebay site in the address as well as being a secure site. If its none of that, its fake and if you're dumb enough to fall for it, like the scammer is hoping, then they have you account. They instantly change your password so you can't log in and then they start with the scam BIN listings.

Now if any "buyer" is dumb enough to fall for one of those listing, I say they get what they deserve! If there was an actual BIN there would be a BIN button at the top of the listing. Any listing that says contact me via this email address (usually a hotmail, gmail, or yahoo email account....why? because those are free and sooo easy to open one without being able to track the owner of it!) is a huge scam and if someone is stupid enough to fall for it thinking they will actually get the drums, then they deserve to lose their money.

Like the old addage goes....if it's sounds too good to be true, IT IS!

DOH

When those show up I just use the "Advanced Search" option to block that seller (along with "p00der2"). After a few weeks you can un-block the name just to clear space for the next spammer.
