Dynasonic knock off????

Loading...

Hey guys,

New member Pete here. I just acquired this snare and I'm not to sure what it is.

It looks like a dynasonic knock off...I dunno though it has no badges. Any help or knowledge is appreciated.

Hmm..Small dark pictures....

The strainer seems identical to the one on my "Tama Kingbeat". The shell however is different. Could be "Star" .

I took the liberty to adjust one of your photos.

The lugs are identical to my Tama, the double action throw off/strainer (unsure witch is the right term) is also identical, apart from the Tama logo.

So, definitly not Pearl.

My King Beat has die cast rims/hoops (again, unsure of the right term) but yours have steel. And, as said earlier, the shell is different.

I'm sure someone at this forum can id this one.

I have just sold a drum very much like it:

Here in Denmark they sold as "Asama" - strainers are copies of Tama, but no diecast rims. Sometimes there are no badges - some times there are:

Nice drums, but a little cheaper than Tamas or Pearls.

Linko offers or offered similar snare shells and throw off system, except for the snare tension knobs. It's a mistery for sure what that snare drum is.

Definitely MIT-I have posted before those lugs were the Island Music Rogers lugs, coupled with a Tama knockoff snare mechanism. Those also morphed into Gretsch Blackhawk ,with the "Island" lugs and later the lettered ones.

Yep... definitely an MIT (Made In Taiwan) drum. It uses pretty much the same mechanism as the Tama King Beat drum. Except for different lugs, this is the same as the Rogers R-380. I've got an R-380 in pretty good condition. Had to use some strainer parts from a King Beat, which fit with no issues!
