With two identical 6.5 maple dynasonics, and 4 COBs...... I can broaden the sound capabilities and feel of the drum without the headache of switching heads. I like that.

Chuck , This is in response to your original question.Keep a spare on hand.Heads get brittle over time.Snare heads especially because of their being so thin.I've had them pull apart about an inch or so from the flesh hoop.But,then again ,it depends on how tight it is tensioned.Personally,I crank both heads real tight.Good luck.
