I was given a Duplex Snare Drum. I have researched this drum on the net and didn’t find a lot about it. I have enclosed photos of it. The badge has a date of April 3 83, the paper tag on the inside is patented April 3, 1883. I am trying to date this and a value. Any help would be appreciated [Attachment: 57594]

Tim - I love those old Duplex's... great 'Industrial' look to those drums, beautifully designed. All that said, they don't command much in the marketplace as they are more for display than play. Couple of hundred bucks to the 'right' buyer.
