duckt tape drums

Loading...

hi all,

i just have to share an experience i had last night!!

i was asked to host a jamsession in a local bar,

they told me to bring my own cymbals, snare and tape :p

the drums they had were '80's premiers!! but in what condition!!

they were literatly hold together by duckt tape lol

most of the nuts and wings are gone so they taped it up...

they sounded great (except for some bad tuning) but setting up that set was a real b*tch!!

I know they can get damaged after +20 years of weekly use but c'mon, duckt tape?? :p

I'll see i can get some pics next time i'm there ;)

greets

Dennis

Duct tape can be usefull but it was designed only for ducts AND to bind drummers hand and foot, who use it on their drums. Then you take their drums away from them and make them listen to Sandy Nelson records, 24 hours a day , played on a portable record player over and over until they promise never to use duct tape on their drums again and then they have to swear on The Standard Stick Method that they will never use it again and then they have to wear an upside down crucifix drum key on a black chain around their necks for 21 days. That will cure them.

Don't laugh too hard, if you ever bust a bass drum head during a gig, some duct tape would come in real handy! lol

Second line kits... gotta love em!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

WOW! that was DEEP!...and I thought I was the most obscure reference, full of sh*t poster on this forum!...I humbly bow!...damn, Sandy Nelson! That was good!Bowing

Getting back to topic, was this aluminum or plastic backed duct tape?...I find that aluminum has more of a wood sonic quality, while plastic reminds me of my old Majestic set up...pure pooh-pooh!Toilet

Admittedly, Debbie Boone would only be just *slightly* worse.

I hope it would be metal duct tape; however, I think most would use plastic, as musicians are usually not flush enough to afford the metal stuff.
