Sorry to post on here about another forum but I have no other option--I'm trying to create an account to post on DFO but the captcha software they use in their registration form is defunct and needs to be upgraded/replaced, preventing me (and anybody else) from registering. And I'm in a catch-22 as I can't tell the admins about it as I am not a member! if any of you also post over there can you let them know? Thanks and apologies!

Stay away from that site .

It has been hacked and has had many issues over the years.

I was just over there and got a java script attack.

Going to report it now.

Too bad, it's part of my triumvirate of drum knowledge (here, DFO and DW) whenever I want to research anything drum.

I do not had any problems with the website with my portable computer. Not sure about other devices. Send your contact info and I will relay it to someone there.

You should still be able to research without an account, but no posting.

From what I surmise ,they have an advert link that redirects to other sites (clicks)for revenue.

These revenue sites are often hacked and redirect you to other sites with malware and java bomb scripts.

Happens to the best of them (New York Times),but DFO seems to be a favorite target.

I have been unable to visit there for more than a few minutes without having to force shut down the page due to malware /loading being blocked by antivirus/ hostile pages that cannot be shut down .. for a very long time. I seldom visit anymore.

Thanks for the warnings. I checked out the relevant threads about it on DW as well as DFO and it's pretty incredible. For what it's worth, I have had zero issues just lurking on DFO but knowing now that they've been in any way compromised I don't see myself creating an account anytime soon...

Might be linked to a browser. I did see something weird on Firebfox a while back. but using Microsoft Edge for the past month has not been an issue signing in several times a day.

No problems for me except when I use search for something. I almost always get the red screen warning and have to shut down, so I just browse and add the odd bit, but that's all. Don't trust it for anything else.
