Drum Restoration Tools

Loading...

When I 1st took my vintage drums outta the closet, thanks to my G/F suggesting I set one up n the livin' room, I set em up in the livin' room, and found this forum. I started restoring drums with gusto! lol I drug out some tools. and got some cool shelves from sams on wheels, My snap-on 1/4" Socket set and ratchet was one of em. THe ratchet was missing and a 14mm short socket missin'. Snap-on man came by today and sold me another one. List price was $60, he sold it to me for $40 cash(you can go broke savin' money!). I paid him and left, my employees holler'n' " why dont we get those deals?!" lol

I got my ratchet, even though I know the other one is here somewhere! It's in the set now. Is this boreing?

If so , sorry

For me it's a drill. For scratches in finishes I use q-tips and a drill to take them out.

My son. He does the boring stuff so I can play. :D Seriously, I couldn't do this without my electric screwdriver. I couldn't imagine doing all those mounts and lugs without it. I would have Popeye wrists and forearms. Love that silly cheap tool.

I have to agree with Mcjnic. My little cordless screw gun I got at Sam's for $22, and of course my drill bit drum key, and screw bit set and 1/4" socket adaptor.

Nutdrivers. I don't use a drill on them for fear of tearing something up!

The greatest restoration tool is your wallet. Whitout it, restoration is not possible...LOL!

My ratcheting screwdriver and a large set of bits - I can usually disassemble and reassemble an entire drum with it.

If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

That's why wives have a purse. My wallet goes empty from time to time, but the wifey purse stays nice and fat for me. SWEET!!!!Kiss
