Drum Mate kit, 20/14/12.

Loading...

Sure will do, it's a cool little kit.

The bass drum was simply made from a 3/8 steel rod and the boom part of a stagg stand that was cut down. I simpled filled the boom bit with epoxy resin and placed the 3/8 inside.

I didn't want a full boom stand (as it looks a little odd coming off a bass drum) so went for a micro boom, which gives the cymbal the 3" or so displacement it needs to work.

I'm still working on a few things, this is my first "vintage" kit, and actually the first kit I've owned for a while I've not build. Usually I make my own kits, which is fun, and a couple are below.

Hey Andrew -

Those are beautiful kits! Where do you get your shells for those and what are they made of? I like your use of wood hoops!

Meanwhile - Do you have any pics of the interiors of your DrumMate? I suppose those are 3 ply with re-rings?

I have never thoght of putting a modern cymbal arm into one of those mounts (as I have several kits with those). My A kit right now has a mount in the center and pretty far forward - thus requiring a boom or bent arm of some sort. thanks for the idea.

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Hey Andrew I love your kits! What a talent. I'll take one of the blonde natural wood finish kits. I love pandas too.
