Drum key Pearl K050 with unusual yellow color logo

Loading...

Just purchased this type of usual vintage Pearl K050 drum key with unusual yellow logo.

Second rarity is that the back side is without logo.

Never seen before.

Is there anybody here who knows about this key or owns it indeed?

I have one of the same keys but the Pearl text is white... (the inset is both sides of the key) . Maybe someone has reglued an inset back in & the glue has reacted with the plastic.

Cheers

John

Here's what I said over at DFO...

"I have the same key and just took some pictures, including the pouch it came in. While the two pictures look identical, it is actually showing each side. The style of pouch suggests 2000's or later. So, yes, I believe the key shown by the OP is faded and one logo came off."

Same as mine Mark... never used it... Came with a P1000 BD pedal pack around 7 years ago..

On a 2nd look at the pic … it has so much yellow bouncing around maybe it is still a white logo.. even its shadow has a yellowish hue

Cheers

Hi John!

I knew these weren't older, "vintage" Pearl keys, but newer, as you pointed out. The picture you're referring to with the "yellowish hue", it's that first picture that's really big, correct? If so, yes, it's just not a good picture to begin with. It still started with white lettering, though.

For you, the guy with ten million billion keys from all planets,...to be stumped ?

The glue bleed or faded suggestions given make sense if the measurements add up.

The only clue I can offer is I notice a change the key's factory finish in the many online and one from Pearl website. There's rough cast looking and polished Chrome.

I am back with this Pearl drum key with yellow logo. Now the key came to me and I could make my own and better pictures. And I think I was right.

Here are three pictures of three various Pearl K050 keys. First one is the chrome version, second one golden version (both with white logo) and third one is this key we discussed. If you look at it you can see, that this third key´s logo looks a little bit different - it is more rendered, more detailed and sharper. And the yellow color is not from aging and not due to flash light. Pictures were made without using flash. IMO it is an older or oldiest version of this type of Pearl key and I will contact Pearl (thru my friend collector in Japan) to ask about it.

You're right. The top of the P that comes through is further and thinner, the center of the a is larger, the bottom of the L is thinner too. It pays to have it in your hands. and, Now added to the million billion you have. Have you weighed them ?

That's why you are the drum key guy !
