All of the plastic cases are good and padding isn't necessary in my opinion because only the metal hoops or lugs have contact with the plastic case. I've never seen scratches on my drum hardware from being in plastic cases with no padding. I've had a cased drum drop 6 feet onto concrete with no damage to the drum. If you're willing to drive there are always plastic cases on craigslist in middle TN.
Otherwise, I'd check out the seller named "drumcaseguy" on ebay. He has good prices on new cases.
