Drouyn harvest

I picked these up cheap today to harvest parts for my Dandy kit here: http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=47775&highlight=dandy

All I need now is the FT hoop and Im done.

The kick and tom are 60s Drouyns and the concert tom is a 50s stradivarius. Came with a 60s premier kick pedal too. Seems a shame to pull apart some nice drums but two kits at least will be completed from this as my mate is going to use the T rods and claws for one of his as well. The shells are pretty damaged on the toms which makes things a bit easier in my mind.

Dont know if its common or not but Ive never seen a letter in the serial number before? That one is from the kick drum so maybe the B is for bass.

Now to get stripping and put some time into the dandy. Will post progress on that asap.

on the serial number - that would make sense. I had a Drouyn tom that had the serial T404 hand written inside

Did you decide whether to re-wrap or not yet? I'm on the "not" side - bad as the wrap is, it's beautiful to me.

Yeh I've decided to re wrap. It's just too far gone with splits and it's missing areas. It's so brittle it basically cracks every time I move them. Im going to take the original wrap and store it rolled up inside another orphan kick drum so its safe.
