Hello, I was doing some digging in my storage unit today and came across a drum in a box which I have possessed all my life. It is a Drouyn Dandy Snare. I am trying to identify it from what I have read on the web but it is a little puzzling.
I took a few photos of it this morning but only on my phone so the quality is terrible however I will bring it up to the house and use the good camera to get some. It only has one mark inside the drum (which I can see) says 131 and looks to be in pencil with a circle around it. I have a black and white photo (scanned) of it being played in 1955 in Brisbane Australia as I know its heritage.
It is timber in white and has never been restored or cleaned. The only work was when I took it to drumworx some years ago to have it skinned. The badge is “Dandy Drouyn & Drouyn” with the six points. All the hardware is original including the metal swivel stand. I am a muso but not a drummer so, depending on what it is worth it may have to make way for more Guitars.
I am happy to send pictures if anyone is interested in helping me sort out its story. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Cheers, Ben.
